At our larger international sporting events we always look to invite a charity team to take part, or support charity projects who raise money through sport or sporting endeavor.

In 2024 we are delighted to be supporting our friends at Wooden Spoon based around our D-Day 80 event.  Wooden Spoon are the children’s charity of rugby, and fund projects to support vulnerable children and young people across the UK & Ireland.

Wooden Spoon cyclists will join the Francourt Freewheelers Team on our “Beach 2 Beach” Ride which will follow the new coastal cycling route from Dunkerque to Normandy and led by our Freewheelers Chairman, Lee Cox.

The historic significance is the Military Evacuation in 1940 and the Allied Invasion of 1944.

Lee through his military connections has also nominated two other charities to support in 2024. Little troopers & Who Dares Care  We welcome them to the fold and pleased to support their fundraising activities.

More about this event on our Francourt Freewheelers page and a new article from Lee Cox.
